The excellent barrier properties of PET make it the primary packaging material for a wide range of food and beverage products-including carbonated drinks, fruit juices, dairy products, tea beverages, and mineral water. PET bottles currently account for approximately 70% of the global market share for liquid beverage packaging.

In my country, the recycling rate for PET beverage bottles stands at 94%. Of this recovered PET plastic, more than 80% is utilized in the manufacture of daily necessities such as automotive components, luggage, apparel, and sun umbrellas.

Over the past 23 years, the weight of a standard 1.5-liter purified water bottle has been reduced from 42 grams to 22.5 grams. Advanced technologies have been developed to create highly efficient and specific PET-degrading enzymes, enabling the degradation and recycling of various types of PET plastics; furthermore, these technologies facilitate the enzymatic regeneration of PET bottles from discarded textiles.

my country's recycling rate for PET beverage bottles ranges between 96.48% and 97.63%, placing it at the forefront of international standards. However, the majority of recycled PET is currently channeled into non-food sectors-such as chemical fibers, automotive parts, and daily chemical products-while food-grade rPET products are predominantly exported to overseas markets.
